Christmas Stars is an original quilt pattern for a table runner in two sizes. This dramatic table runner takes very little time and can be made in a variety of lengths and widths to suit any table. Pattern instructions are given for a 14” x 47” runner and for a skinny 11 ½” x 35” runner. Rolled-back folded bias edges give sharp star points and gentle curves as the stars float above the background, but there is no curved piecing. This is sometimes referred to as Cathedral Window curves.
Avoid directional prints for the star and background fabrics because the fabrics will be cut and sewn on various angles. 40” usable width is used in fabric calculations.
